Title	Measures towards sustaining the BEST preparatory action to promote the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and ecosystem services in EU outermost regions and overseas countries and territories (2 lots).
Description	The contract views the setting up of a structure/platform that shall enable and facilitate information-sharing on funding availability from different sources (EC but also MSs and other possible partners — from international financial institutions to NGOs to businesses) for projects aimed at the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and ecosystem services in EU outermost regions and overseas countries and territories. This structure/platform will make information available between the finance providers and possible project implementers, as well as contribute to the development of required support mechanisms including regional ecosystem profiles.

Lot 1	Setting up and facilitating the interactive platform	Lot 1 — setting up and facilitating the interactive platform includes the following tasks: setting up a BEST working team supported by regional knowledge hubs, developing and managing an interactive website, setting up a steering committee and organising biannual steering committee meetings, enabling and facilitating information-sharing on funding availability, leverage of funds and outreach, and developing BEST strategies in close collaboration with ongoing activities, with local and regional governments and communities and civil society.
Lot 2	Developing regional ecosystem profiles	Lot 2 — the development of regional ecosystem profiles includes an inventory of existing ecosystem profiles at local or regional level, in EU outermost regions and overseas countries and territories, and ongoing work with regard to regional ecosystem profiles to avoid duplication of work and allow synergies with relevant ongoing activities, the establishment of regional ecosystem profiles with the help of local actors, supported by the regional knowledge hubs which shall be established in lot 1 and in close collaboration with existing and ongoing work.The establishment of regional ecosystem profiles needs to be effectively coordinated to ensure the overall quality and allow mutual learning and exchange of best practice. For tenders which cover both lot 1 and lot 2, this coordination shall be carried out by the BEST team set up in lot 1.
