Title	Support to the European Commission's policy on large carnivores under the Habitats Directive.
Description	The contractor will support the Commission in the development of an EU initiative for the conservation and sustainable management of large carnivore species.It will review the conservation status of large carnivore populations in Europe; it will summarise and draw conclusions from the nearly 70 LIFE Nature projects and some relevant complaint cases on large carnivores; it will identify and examine possible difficulties/shortcomings and good practices in the application by the Member States of the Commission's guidance document on population-level management of large carnivores; it will scope the relevance of conflict resolution/minimisation methodologies developed by social scientists and good practices that could be applied to situations of human-large carnivore conflicts; to identify commonalities of agendas and elements for a dialogue with stakeholders, it will prepare a scoping document and other materials for the discussion with stakeholders and will assist in the organisation of a workshop.
