Title	Study on the wood raw material supply and demand for the EU wood-processing industries.
Description	In order to help develop their policy approach for the wood-processing and other wood-using industries, the Commission's services require a detailed analysis, at regional and sub-sectoral levels, of the situation for wood — including recovered wood — and recovered paper supplies and demands, in the context of EU policies in support of renewable energy. To achieve this, extensive and detailed information about the recent trends, current situations and future prospects for the potential development of: supplies (theoretical and real availabilities); demands; costs and prices of wood — including recovered wood, and recovered paper is required. The analysis should then explore, with reference to identified regional examples both within and outwith the EU, the competitive interactions for wood raw material between the EU wood-processing industries and the biomass-based, renewable energy-generating sector. In addition, an appraisal of the impact of such interactions on the global competitiveness of the EU wood-processing sector should be given, together with conclusions and innovative recommendations as to remedial actions.
