Title	External Mapping of Prevention Actors, Networks, & Activities in the EU/EEA to Support the Development of an EU Prevention Framework.
Description	The objective of this procedure is to purchase consultancy services to support the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in research tasks related to the development of an EU prevention framework for communicable diseases, and the establishment of a network of actors (Community of Practice) working in behavioural and social sciences in health. This mixed-methods research project will be carried out as a series of four case studies in the EU/EEA, with an aim of exploring the prevention strategies, activities, and actors in the participating countries. It will involve a social network mapping and analysis of actors and institutions working in disease prevention at national and sub-national levels, as well as the dynamics between them. It will also identify and explore the breadth and nature of prevention activities – including those based on behavioural and social sciences - conducted by these actors. It is envisioned that the study will use both qualitative (in the form of semi-structured interviews and document reviews), and quantitative methods (social network analyses). The work will be desk-based and will not entail travel to the participating countries. The case studies will be used to produce a final report summarizing and synthesising the findings, and reflecting on their potential implications for the nature, structure, and activities of an EU prevention framework. In addition, a set of criteria will be proposed as a basis for identifying potential members of an ECDC Community of Practice for behavioural and social insights. The tasks will be performed over a maximum duration of six months. Maximum amount: 60,000 EUR.
