Title	CNECT/2022/OP/0049 – Participatory Foresight on Next Generation Online Platforms
Description	The tender involves the organisation of a foresight exercise into next-generation online platforms and their transformative impacts on the EU's society and economy. The work shall identify emerging trends and develop scenarios for the online platform economy, including from a global perspective. It shall organise dives on specific trends. Technological developments such as virtual/augmented reality, metaverse, sectoral developments in areas such as energy, health and manufacturing as well as concentration of economic power driven by digitisation efficiencies will be investigated. The changing role of the firm and the position of EU SMEs in B2B industrial supply chains should be investigated. This work shall help inform future policy work including for upcoming Commission mandates. It is linked to the Digital Businesses indicator in the Digital Decade. It shall aim to aid EC colleagues’ foresight literacy and help cross-fertilise horizontal platform policy and sectoral policy areas.
