Title
SME instrument - phase 3: access to new geographical markets - overseas trade fair participation programme.
Description
The overall objective of the SME instrument is to create growth and jobs in supported SMEs and respond to societal challenges. This will be achieved through support to development and market introduction of innovative products/services/processes by the SMEs. This support takes the form of direct grants, business innovation coaching and commercialisation services.Within phase 3, the aim for the SME instrument ‘Access to new geographical markets — overseas trade fair participation programme’ is to facilitate access for the funded SMEs to key international trade fairs in new geographical markets outside the European Union and countries associated with H2020. Evidently the funded SMEs would also benefit from participation at fairs in Europe. But, it is recognised that the regional and national business support agencies routinely organise joint stands for innovative SMEs at the lead fairs in Europe (Hannover Messe fair, Mobile World Congress Barcelona and many others). Supporting representation at fairs in Europe would duplicate efforts or even create an unnecessary feeling of competition. The present call for tenders will therefore focus exclusively on leading fairs overseas.
