Ex-Ante publicity notice for a service contract for a study on information gathering on European Positive Lists of the Drinking Water Directive (Directive (EU) 2020/2184) to potential future applicants of the review programme of 2025-2040
On 12 January 2021, a revised Directive on the quality of water intended for human consumption was adopted as Directive (EU) 2020/2184. Its overarching objective is to ensure a high level of protection of the environment and of human health from the adverse effects of contaminated drinking water. Under Article 11 of the Directive, ECHA’s foreseen tasks are related to setting up and maintaining European positive lists of starting substances, compositions or constituents for four types of materials ((i) organic, (ii) cementitious, (iii) metallic, (iv) enamels, ceramic or other inorganic materials) authorised to be used for the manufacturing of materials coming into contact with drinking water. The contractor will be required to identify relevant stakeholders, create information collection tool(s) and approach those stakeholders with a request for input. That input shall be analysed, synthesised and form the basis for a report to be submitted to ECHA. A secondary aim of the contract is to further enhance ECHA’s understanding of the stakeholder landscape in relation to future Directive applications. Maximum contract value 60 000 Euros.
