Lot 1
Industry
Lot 1 covers overarching issues related to EU industrial policy and specific fields such as supply chains, critical raw materials, industrial aspects of semiconductors and of single market emergency measures. It comprises innovation and measures aimed at SMEs and microenterprises. Aspects relating to the security and defence sector, strategic autonomy and the European Space Policy are also included.
Lot 2
Digital, ICT, Innovation and Research
Lot 2 covers issues relating to information and communications technologies (ICT), the EU digital, innovation and research policies, and the programmes and activities of research institutes and centres (e.g. the Joint Research Centre (JRC)), dealing with these policies. It also covers data spaces, big data, artificial intelligence (AI), broadband, cloud computing, along with telecommunication, network aspects, cyber security and safety, e-government, e-payments, internet governance, smart and IT sensors, metering and monitoring, spectrum management, and robotisation. Lot 2 also encompasses EU excellence in science, EU leadership in key enabling industrial technologies, relevant international cooperation, societal challenges, and pertinent audio-visual policy, media freedom, copyright and intellectual property issues.
Lot 3
Energy and Climate Change
Lot 3 covers the EU energy policy in general and a variety of energy-related themes such as energy efficiency, renewable energies, energy markets, infrastructure and storage, energy affordability and security of supply. It includes nuclear energy, the Euratom Treaty, and technological and industrial developments. Also covered are relevant aspects of decarbonising measures such as the Emissions Trading System (ETS), sustainable carbon cycle, carbon capture and storage/utilisation (CCS/CCU) and the policy commitments of the Paris Agreement.
