Title	Purchase of equipment for defining the composition of alloy of counterfeit euro coins
Description	Please note that this is not a call for tenders but a publication announcing the Contracting authority’s intention to publish a future negotiated low or middle valueprocedure. DG ECFIN aims to purchase equipment to be used by the European Technical and Scientific Centre (ETSC) for defining the composition of the alloy of counterfeit euro coins (X-RAY fluorescence measuring instrument), which is an important part of the technical analysis of counterfeit euro coins. In addition, such an instrument will allow further research on the material used and ways of production of counterfeit euro coins and as such, will allow gathering important information for streamlining the technical specifications for the detection test in line with Articles 4 and 7 of Regulation (EU) 1210/2010. In particular, the ETSC performs advanced and non-destructive analysis of high quality counterfeit euro coins to inform Europol and law enforcement authorities of emerging threats.
