Feasibility study on the use of comprehensive tools to manage information flows from product supply chains to waste operators
Assessing the feasibility of establishing comprehensive tools, including software applications, to track and link information on products at all stages of their life cycle and to make relevant parts of that information available to downstream users, workers, consumers and recyclers, with a particular emphasis on tracking of substances of concern throughout the supply chain. In this context, it will assess the feasibility of linking information gathered in existing IT tools and databases and making that information available to targeted users in the least burdensome and most user friendly way possible. It will also study ways to protect confidential business information and of transmitting information only according to the needs of the users. The study has a focus on the analysis and development of case studies, with a strong sectorial approach, with the purpose of identifying and the most appropriate information tracking solutions, which ultimately must also be useful to waste managers.
