EHealth, Interoperability of Health Data and Artificial Intelligence for Health and Care in the EU – Smart 2019/0056
The studies will survey and analyse progress on the digital transformation of the health and care in the EU, particularly with regard to citizens’ access to their Electronic health records (EHR). It will provide an overview of the current situation in the EU Member States with regard to the development of interoperable EHR systems and enabling technological solutions such as electronic identification, distributed ledger and cybersecurity. The results of the study will support and inform the ongoing work of the EU and Member States on the interoperability of EHR systems, in particular with regard to the development of the European EHR exchange format.

Interoperability of Electronic health records in the EU. The study seeks to survey and analyse progress on the digital transformation of the health and care in the EU, particularly with regard to citizens’ access to their Electronic health records (EHR). Artificial intelligence for health and care in the EU. The study aims to survey and analyse progress on the adoption of Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for the benefit of patients and health and care systems in the EU. It will provide an overview of the current situation with regard to the development, adoption and use of AI technologies and applications in the health and care sector in the EU Member States. The results of the study will support and inform EU policy initiatives aiming to leverage AI and big data for digitally transforming and improving health and care in the EU.
