Support for the Implementation of the Provisions on ILUC Set out in the Renewable Energy Directive
The study should fulfil the following objectives:— support the commission in the review of the relevant aspects of the report on feedstock expansion, in particular the data on feedstock expansion, including the small holders provision in Article 5(1) of the delegated act,— provide data from direct measurements on the applicability of the methodology for low ILUC-risk biofuels and bioliquids from actual plantations in 3 different geographical areas; EU, South-East Asia and Latin America.

Lot number Title Description
Lot 1 Technical Assistance on the Implementation of the Provisions on ILUC Set out in the Recast Renewable Energy Directive Lot 1 will assist the commission in obtaining all necessary data needed for the implementation of the provisions on ILUC set out in the recast Renewable Energy Directive (Directive (EU) 2018/2001).
Lot 2 Mitigating ILUC Impacts (Desk Assessment + 5 Pilot Studies) and Review Lot 2 will test and review under real conditions the methodologies set out in the recast Renewable Energy Directive and the related delegated act (C(2019) 2055 final) in particular regarding low indirect land use change (ILUC) fuels.
