Description	On 13.6.2018, the co-legislators reached a provisional agreement on the future renewable energy directive. Next to a binding 32 % renewables target, a separate sectorial target of 14 % renewables was set for the transport sector and it allows the target to be met via the use of renewable liquid and gaseous transport fuels of non-biological origin as well as recycled carbon fuels.The commission would like to assess the potential of such fuels over the period 2020 to 2030, including deployment potential, resource competition and decarbonisation potential.The commission also requires technical support related to determining the share of renewable energy from renewable liquid and gaseous transport fuels of non-biological origin.
