Management of the Administrative Secretariat of the ‘Co-ordination Groups of the Notified Bodies’ in the Framework of the Union's New Approach Directives
The purpose of the contract is the management of the administrative secretariat of the coordination groups for notified bodies. The member states are responsible for designating these bodies, selecting them from among the testing laboratories, inspection and certification bodies under their jurisdiction. The Commission supports and organises cooperation between the bodies. There are currently more than 20 notified body coordination groups. These groups are made up of representatives of the notified bodies. About 20 meetings a year are held, usually in Brussels, but they can be held in another European capital as well (e.g. MARED/Lisbon). The function of the technical secretariat is to look after the technical aspects involved in holding these meetings together with the chairperson and the responsible Commission official. This service, which is individual for each group, is provided by another contractor assigned by the Commission.
