Tender reference number
EU Zoos Directive guidance and best practice document (the title published in the PIN OJ S 32-050777 on 16.2.2012 was: 'Implementing the EU Zoos Directive - guidance and best practice').
The aim is to develop a guidance and best practice document on the Zoos Directive, with particular regard to the provisions set out in Article 3 of the Directive. The guidance document shall consist of a thorough, operationally detailed and science-based compilation and summary of relevant information in order to provide a comprehensive, up to date reference document to support practitioners and Member States to implement the spirit and requirements of the Zoos Directive. Preparation of the guidance document will require close liaison with the relevant stakeholders. For that purpose, and in order to ensure all relevant sectors are represented, the contractor should establish a small liaison stakeholders' group involving representatives from key interests, including the Member States, to advise and support the development of the guide. Towards the end of the contract, and based on a draft text of the guidance document, the contractor should organise a consultation meeting involving relevant authorities of the Member States and key stakeholder groups.
