Title
Analysis of knowledge sharing approaches for models and methods in science
Description
Please note that this is not a call for tenders but a publication announcing the Contracting authority’s intention to publish a future negotiated low or middle valueprocedure.
The objective of this study is to identify and analyse different (online) approaches to sharing knowledge on models and methods within and across scientific communities. The analysis should describe the salient features of each approach, the underpinning rationale, and important strengths and weaknesses that impact efficiency and effectiveness. It is intended that the study goes beyond life sciences since the sharing of models and methods is also an important pursuit in other domains, bringing together scientists based in academia, industry, government, and civil organisations. Consideration should also be given to economic and organisational factors to set up and operate different knowledge sharing approaches with a view to understanding the type and level of costs involved, challenges in ensuring sustainability, and ultimately impact versus investment. The findings of the study should provide a sound evidence-base that will inform future approaches to sharing knowledge on non-animal models and methods used in science.
