Title	Review of Guidance Documents under Directive 2009/31/EC on the Geological Storage of Carbon Dioxide
Description	Review of guidance documents under Directive 2009/31/EC on the geological storage of carbon dioxide. (CLIMA.C2.6/MP2022). The four guidance documents on the implementation of Directive 2009/31/EC on the geological storage of carbon dioxide were developed more than 10 years ago. They are to be considered outdated due to the market related and technological changes. Given the growing market interest in the CCUS technologies, partially driven by the launch of the Innovation Fund and the Fit for 55 package, around 30 new CCUS projects are to be implemented in the Union by 2030. There is an urgent need to update the Guidance documents to facilitate the realisation of such projects.
