Title	“Assessment of infrastructure costs calculation, tolls calculation and variation for heavy goods vehicles in Member States”
Description	Directive 1999/62/EC, as amended by Directive 2006/38/EC and by Directive 2011/76/EU, provides the legal Framework for the tolling of heavy goods vehicles in the EU. The Directive stipulates that tolls shall be based on the recovery of infrastructure costs, and, as the case may be, on the recovery of the cost of traffic-base air and/or noise pollution. 6 months before the implementation of new or substantially amended tolling schemes, Member States have to provide the Commission with a detailed description of the new system. A number of Member States are expected to notify the Commission about new or substantially amended tolling schemes in 2018-19. The contractor will assist the Commission in the assessment of these notifications, in accordance with Article 7h(2) of Directive 1999/62/EC.
