Description	The objectives of this study are:— to provide the most recent statistical and scientific data on the Utilised Agricultural Area in the EU at present, — to provide the most recent statistical data and scientific evidence on agricultural land abandonment in the EU,— to identify the reasons why agricultural land is abandoned,— to support the Commission in proposing policies that can reverse this trend, and,— to support the Commission in proposing policies aim at reclaiming abandoned agricultural land and putting it under active production for energy crops.
