Title
Collecting quantitative Data on the State of play of Artificial Intelligence and other New Technologies - SMART 2019/0019
Description
New technologies, such as artificial intelligence, robotics, big data, Internet of Things, blockchain and 3D printing will be an important topic for the next Commission and we lack data for fact-based policy-making. This will be a two-phase study. Phase I (20% of contract value) includes research on available data and reports, definition of a methodological framework for a large-scale survey and for at least one additional method, as well as conducting a pilot in at least 5 member states. Phase II (80% of contract value) will be launched, if Phase I is successful and will consist of data collection in all EU Member States and some third countries. The objective is to obtain a reliable quantitative overview at member state level on the state of play of new technologies. The data shall serve also as input to the DESI 2020.
