Description	The overall objective of this assignment contract is to promote the active management of private forests and the wider development of Continuous Cover Forestry (CCF) management as an alternative to the clear-fell system in Ireland. The assignment shall support and build the capacity of a forestry fund which aims to acquire 4,000 ha of commercial conifer forests in Ireland and manage them according to CCF principles improving biodiversity and ecosystem functions. Where possible the Fund will also carry out afforestation on new land.
