Title	Study on 'e-Government and the reduction of the administrative burden' (SMART 2012-0061).
Description	The subject of the contract is a study which will address the relevant action in the e-government action plan 2011–2015 on the use of ICTs for the reduction of the administrative burden. This study aims at: (i) finding out where do we stand in the EU with the 'once only' registration principle and with the 'requirement to make electronic procedures the dominant channel for delivering e-Government services'; (ii) analysing the costs and benefits of reducing the administrative burden through the use of ICTs in particular when using the 'once only' principle; and (iii) providing a roadmap for further policy measures incl. an outline of possible courses for future action and an outline of possible future developments as a basis for dialogue among Member States.
