Please note that this is not a call for tenders but a publication announcing the Contracting authority’s intention to publish a future negotiated low or middle valueprocedure.
The aim of this contract is to carry out three case studies investigating the socio-economic impact of automation in the service industries, in the EU. The contractor will examine the impact of three different technologies by conducting qualitative, in depth, semi-structured interviews; the establishments/companies to be interviewed must have their main operations in an EU Member State. The contractor will carry out one case study on Professional cleaning robots; one case study on Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs) in logistics; and one case study on Remote monitoring devices in healthcare. The aim of these case studies it to understand: how automation technologies change the business model, production and economic process in the service industries; the implications of these changes for work organization, occupational health and safety, and job quality; the implications of these changes in terms of tasks, occupations and skill requirements; and the drivers and barriers for the automation of services in the EU and potential future developments.
