JRC Karlsruhe intends to procure a standalone, high-integrity glovebox workstation of stainless steel construction providing a universal laboratory bench area, designed for a single operator and having generous storage capabilities (large freezer, underbench cupboard for solvent bottles, shelves). The glovebox must operate under continuously recirculated, filtered, purified, and monitored high-purity argon atmosphere and fitted with suitable technical provisions to allow efficient inward and outward transfer of the material and samples from the adjacent laboratory area. The operations undertaken involve manual handling, production, isolation, storage and dispensing of highly oxygen and moisture sensitive solid and liquid chemical samples, generation and use of reactive intermediates (i.e. ligand transfer reagents) via reactions in anhydrous solvents, precision weighing of air-sensitive materials. This glovebox is not intended for radiological or extremely toxic volatile material service.
