The purchase of this instrument is related to one of the main activities of our unit, which is to develop methods for the detection of micro and nanoplastics in different matrix such as soil, sediment and water. This instrument is based on the approach of dissolving and selectively extracting plastics from matrix, which might be an advantageous approach to monitor microplastics in the environment . This system accelerates and simplifies microplastics extraction from complex matrices.
