Raw material equivalents (RME) model
Description
The objective of this call for tender (lot 3) is to assist Eurostat in the maintenance, revision, and application of Eurostat's RME model. The aim of the model is to generate and provide complete time series of extended EW-MFA indicators for the aggregated EU economy. Further through this call for tender, Eurostat seeks for assistance in maintaining and improving the simplified version of the model that is provided by Eurostat to support national statistics institutes in estimating RME-based indicators at their national level (country RME tool). Both the EU RME model and the country RME tool also require the maintenance of extensive documentation.
Further, Eurostat seeks for assistance in developing concepts and methods to use international multi-country input-output datasets extended by environmental parameters (in particular material flows) that can be used for improving the estimates of RME-based indicators for the European statistical system. This work should also contribute to the institutionalisation of multi-country input-output models and databases and their use for environmental applications.
