definition of 'extended' Internet of Things ecosystem
Could you please clarify what it is exactly meant by 'extended' Internet of Things ecosystem for the production of smart statistics? The term 'extended' is not clear for us in this context.

The term "extended Internet of Things data ecosystem" refers to an integrated system of smart devices and smart sensors that produce massive "machine generated" data in real-time or almost real-time. In this context, an extended IoT data ecosystem covers a wide range of diverse smart devices and cross-platform deployments of various embedded technologies, as an example shown in Figure 2, titled "Internet of Things: application areas and integration", in the technical specifications. The integration of other human generated data cannot be excluded from an extended IoT data ecosystem.
