The meaning behind this requirement is twofold: For the physical simulator itself: to ensure that the simulators can operate at any period over the 24 hour day/night period within the room they are constructed within. Tenderers may assume that building lighting is available throughout; however, they may also wish to consider the use of low or red ambient light for simulator operations as an option as it is good ergonomic practice to reduce ambient light at night. The day/night requirement for the virtual environment should simply allow that missions can be flown both in day and night scenarios.
