See Annex 3.1.1 T &C Specifications, s. 4.13.1 Responsibilities regarding licenses for tools, the question of licencing costs for monitoring tools only applies to Work area 03 Application and database management services. For application management in this context and the estimated number of Virtual Machines (VMs), see s. 4.12.2.1 Environments foreseen in this FwC (p. 40) for the current landscape of applications. For OWB & ODI in Fig. 1 – Data integration system overview (p. 41), there are four environments of two Linux VMs each running Oracle database and OWB. For SAP BusinessObjects, Fig. 5 – SAP BI Reporting Logical Architecture in s. 5.1.4 Business Intelligence (Reporting) shows the logical architecture; the databases run on Linux VMs and the BO repositories run on Windows Server 2012R2 or 2008R2. For Text Analytics: the databases and applications run on Linux VMs; for Data Analytics there are several small tools, and the databases are either Oracle on Linux VMs or MS SQLServers; the number of servers for Data Analytics applications is currently around a dozen. For database management, s. 5.3.1 Overview, “database management service will be used when another party (ECHA or 3rd party) is responsible for managing the services higher up the application technology stack.”, in this context and for the number of VMs this applies to, there are currently about a dozen Oracle databases running on Linux RedHat 6 or 7 and another dozen MS SQLServers. In this FwC managing operating systems may also be optionally requested as mentioned in several sections (i.e. 5.3.7 and 5.3.8). For types and releases/versions of OS/RDBMS software, see s. 4.13.2 Technologies currently used. The current total number of Operating systems/Servers is: Linux servers running Oracle databases or applications: 41 Windows servers running MS SQLServer or applications: 23. Please note that these figures are likely to change in the future depending on the Agency’s needs.
