In order to be able to evaluate our responsibilities, could you please confirm that the relevant RPAS' contracted by EMSA are able to operate safely in the event of an intermittent or permanent loss of SATCOM communications?

The RPAS are equipped with an autonomous waypoint driven control system for take-off, landing and in-flight. In case of communications failure, the safety is achieved by defining a return procedure allowing the predictability of RPAS route back to the landing point. Once it re-enter RLOS range the C2 is re-established via the RLOS channels.
